NUTTY WHEAT RUSKS

Healthy snack to enjoy at tea time.
Ingredients
- 1kg Nutty Wheat
- 500ml Flour
- 375ml sugar
- 15ml baking powder
- 500g baking margarine
- 5ml bicarbonate of soda
- 30ml vinegar
- 1litre Buttermilk
- 1 egg
Method
- Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in vinegar
- Add buttermilk and egg, mix well
- Rub baking margarine into dry ingredients
- Add to buttermilk, egg mixture and mix well
- Divide into 3 bread pans and even out
- Groove the middle of the bread to ensure that the bread rise evenly
- Bake at 180º Celsius for 1 hour
- Let cool completely
- Cut into sizes of your choice
- Dry on baking tray at 80º Celsius until well dried
- Store in airtight container
